Authorities do not yet have a suspect in custody, however reports indicated the letter was sent from Canada, and a woman has been identified as the suspect.
A package containing the deadly poison ricin has been intercepted in White House mail.
According to authorities, it appears the package came from Canada.
The letter was found to be suspicious at an off-site mail testing facility, and tested positive twice.
There were additional ricin-laced letters that were sent to US federal offices in Texas. It appears only one politician was targeted, that being US President Donald Trump.
The FBI issued a statement on Twitter:
“The FBI and our U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Postal Inspection Service partners are investigating a suspicious letter received at a U.S. government mail facility. At this time, there is no known threat to public safety.”
