Knife Attack in London leaves 1 person dead, 5 wounded

Terror Attack suspected

There has been a knife attack in London’s Russell Square that has left one person dead, and another 5 people wounded.

Authorities have one person in custody, and suspect that this was a terror attack.

Hours before the incident occurred, London Police announced they would be increasing their presence by 600 officers, in response to the rising number of terror attacks in Europe.

The head of the Metropolitan Police – Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe, had made this statement on the increasing police presence: “Anyone who’s been following events in Europe over the past few weeks will understand why we want to show our determination to protect the public.”

Howe’s words seem frightingly prescient as the stabbing attack took place just hours later.

In wake of Bastille Day Attacks in France, fear rising in Europe over continued terror

Europe is on edge as daily life is interrupted by violence. After the recent axe attack in Germany and the horrific Bastille Day terror, European leaders will be under increasing pressure to keep their people safe from harm – the first and most important duty of any government.

Terrorism suspected, but motive not officially known

While officials suspect terrorism as the motive, that has not yet been confirmed.
