Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte Says America Trying To Undermine Him

Believes ambassadors are working with CIA

Controversial Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is claiming US Diplomats are trying to “undermine” his government.

In an interview, Duterte said “Most of the ambassadors of the United States, but not all, are not really professional ambassadors. At the same time they are spying, they are connected with the CIA.”

Duterte has become one of the most controversial world leaders, having said he executed criminals by his own hand, comparing himself to Hitler, and launching a drug war that has led to an increase in vigilante justice.

Duterte also previously told US President Obama to “Go to hell,” and referred to Obama as a “Son of a bitch.”

Duterte most recently threatened to “burn down” the United Nations building after criticism of the drug war.

The US has critcized Duterte numerous times on the violence in his country, but many point that out as being hypocritical, since parts of the US have massive amounts of crime and violence, as the tweet below points out.

It should be noted that while Duterte is being criticized on the international scene, he remains very popular among many citizens of the Philippines. Many see him as addressing rampant corruption and drug use throughout the country.
