No, I’m not talking about British Columbia
According to the World Health Organization, Canada ranks 30th out of 191 countries they reviewed for quality of healthcare.
This puts us behind many surprising countries, including Colombia, a nation that has been wracked for years by a brutal drug war and rampant corruption.
Colombia is 22nd on the list, owing to their network of specialized hospitals and clinics throughout the nation.
The United States ranks 37th on the list, meaning Canada is closer to the U.S. in healthcare quality than we are to Colombia.
This should be a wake-up call that our healthcare system has a long way to go.
