Elitist Ottawa Institute Promised Access To Trudeau For $15,000

Cash-For-Access Continues? $15,000 for private cocktails with the PM

The Macdonald-Laurier Institute, an elitist establishment think tank in Ottawa – has been caught promising access to PM Trudeau in return for big financial donations.

As reported by CTV News, the think tank had a page on their website which said that a donation of $15,000 would get a donor a private reception with Trudeau and guest speakers at an upcoming event.

The Prime Minister’s Office says the PM never received an invitation to the event.

Macdonald-Laurier Institute says it was an “error,” event organizer says otherwise

The Macdonald-Laurier Institute is saying that the promise of access for cash was a mistake, and has removed it from their website.

However, the event organizer told CTV that the invite – including the promise of access to Trudeau – was made at the request of the institute.

Games of the elite

This kind of stuff is why people don’t trust the government. While Canadians struggle to make ends meet, politicians in Ottawa think of how to take even more of our money.

All the while, the elites play these games of doling out access to the powerful in return for filling their own coffers.

The elite are nice and comfy in their secure jobs paid for either directly or indirectly with our tax dollars. They’ve grown completely disconnected from our lives and what most Canadians experience.

That’s how you end up with stupidity like trying to charge $15,000 for access to the PM. The elites have forgotten that the government is supposed to work for us, not for them.

It will be up to us to remind them.
