ISIS Now Using Drones

Military officials concerned by ISIS’ growing capability, some worried about potential attacks in the west

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is now utilizing drones to drop bombs.

It was reported that an ISIS propaganda video showed them utilizing a Chinese-made drone called the Skywalker X8.

The US military is said to be very concerned by this development.

The drone is commercially available and can be bought on Amazon.

The bombs being dropped from the ISIS drones are said to be similar to Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

Duncan Hunter – a member of the US House of Representatives Armed Services Committee, has pointed out that ISIS is growing more sophisticated in their use of weapons.

Hunter says ISIS has gone from burying IEDs in the ground, to putting them in cars, and now to dropping them from the sky.

Of particular concern is whether ISIS could utilize drones for attacks in the western world. When Hunter was asked whether ISIS could use the drones in attacks on the west, he replied “Of course.”

Clearly, the threat from ISIS remains a big problem for the world. Their drone capability is a reminder that we cannot let our guard down.
