The government is hiding the names of those making the most off taxpayer dollars.
A new report from CTV News has revealed that there are more than 12 staffers in the PMO who are making over $150,000 per year – all of it paid for by Canadian taxpayers.
According to the report, “The document released to CTV through the Access to Information Act shows that 13 staff members in the PMO, whose names are blanked out, earn somewhere between $150,000 and $350,000 annually. Another 14 employees are paid between $100,000 and $150,000.”
The report also notes that the salaries for Gerald Butts and Katie Telford are not being revealed by the government.
Time to cut salaries
It’s outrageous that so much of our money is going to political appointees, and it’s something we’ve seen from multiple governments. Our “leaders” keep telling us to sacrifice and tighten our belts, but they never include themselves or their own staff in that advice.
That has to change.
While the establishment elites will trot out the old line that the government “needs to pay well for talent,” where is the evidence of all that “talent?” Our governments continue to expand their power at our expense, and then use that as a justification for paying themselves more money. That’s why we need to reverse the centralization of government, and empower local governments, families, and individuals. In today’s world, with today’s technology, we don’t need a massive, expensive, and expensive centralized government,
Instead of spending massive amounts on the salaries of overpaid political officials, the Canadian people should be able to keep more of our money.
While all governments have shown total disrespect for taxpayers by paying their top staff such large salaries, its disturbing to once again see the Trudeau government hiding information from Canadians through heavily-redacted documents. Our government works for us, and those staffers are supposed to work for us. We pay their salaries. The government should not be able to hide that information from us ever again.
Government staff should never get rich off taxpayer dollars.
The elites want to hide their many failures behind political correctness, deception, and manipulation. We need to push back and spread the truth.
That’s why I write.
