There’s No Such Thing As “Free Trade” With China

A few days ago, I reported on a disturbing push from the globalist Public Policy Forum – in conjunction with the Trudeau government and corporate elites – to initiate a propaganda campaign to push Canadians to support “free trade” with China.

The first event to begin that effort was held behind closed doors, with the public and media banned from hearing what was discussed.

While that’s disturbing enough, there’s an even bigger problem.

We keep getting told this is about “free trade” with China. And yet, consider how China manages their economy, there is no such thing as “free trade” with that nation.

China has been playing the establishment media and world leaders like a fiddle. They talk about “opposing protectionism,” while implementing massive protectionism themselves.

Even a total globalist like the German Ambassador to China – Michael Clauss, was forced to admit that China is increasing protectionism, even as they claim the opposite. He told CNBC that “It doesn’t matter which trading partner you talk to – be it the Japanese or the U.S. or neighboring countries or European countries. They all feel the same, that there’s a growing protectionism here.”

China imposes those protectionist rules on everyone they deal with. That makes it clear that there is no such thing as “free trade” with China.

Watch the German Ambassador to China discuss China’s protectionism in the video below:

Interestingly, China’s economy has been growing far faster than all Western nations. As the middle-class has been hollowed out and working people get screwed over in the West, China has grown much wealthier. So, China has grown richer while implementing protectionism and refusing to let their own companies and industries get bought up, while we are constantly told that protectionism would destroy our economies.

That’s because so many Western leaders are dumb enough to sign deals that give China full access to Western markets – letting them buy up everything, steal intellectual property, and flood our markets with cheap goods – while China doesn’t let other countries do the same to them.

As Ambassador Clauss said, “The service sector is basically off limits. Many companies that would like to produce here in China and build a factory and start producing are forced into going in a joint venture. It’s also frequently they’re asked to transfer technology, which is against the rules of the WTO. And the tendency seems to be growing. That’s the complaint we get from German businesspeople.”

So why do the elites keep pushing for more deals with China?

The answer is that while middle-class and working people will get screwed over by a so-called “free trade” deal with China, big corporations and the elites will benefit.

Wages will be lowered, our manufacturing sector will be further devastated, small businesses will be wrecked, financial independence will weaken, and we will be even more dependent on foreign trade rather than having a stronger domestic market.

All of this will weaken the financial and political power of individual Canadians, while further enriching the powerful elite. Wealth and power will be concentrated even more in fewer and fewer hands.

That’s why they’re trying to convince us to go along with a “free trade” deal with China, even though there is no such thing.

The elites want to hide their many failures behind political correctness, deception, and manipulation. We need to push back and spread the truth.1
