Even as the Trudeau government seeks to push their “inclusive” image through Trudeau’s “everyone is welcome” tweet and weak response to illegal border crossings, it turns out that they revoked deportation protections for legally admitted Haitian migrants more quickly than the Trump Administration.
This interesting fact was pointed out by Thomas Walkom in the Toronto Star. It’s worth quoting at length:
“Following the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010, both Canada and the U.S. gave temporary refuge to displaced citizens of that country. In the U.S., close to 60,000 Haitians took advantage of this so-called temporary protected status. In Canada, the numbers were much smaller.
In both countries, the program was to be only temporary. Canada ended its version in August 2016, leaving 3,200 Haitians facing possible deportation. The U.S. was to have ended its version this May, but the Trump administration extended the deadline to next January. Some Haitians affected by this decision are crossing into Canada to try their luck here.”
So, the Trudeau government showed less compassion than the Trump administration, yet nobody is talking about it.
Walkom makes another interesting point about the differing perceptions of Trudeau and Trump:
“Does the president’s decision to end a temporary humanitarian program make him a monster? Perhaps. But if so, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is equally monstrous. Yet that is not the rap he faces.”
Manipulation by the media elites
Walkom’s article is a rare example of clarity and truth in the media. Through his comparison of the actions of the Trudeau government and Trump administration, he shows how far removed media coverage has become from any tether to reality.
We can see that Trudeau’s image is being crafted by the PMO and the corrupt media elites, and no amount of facts will get in the way.
And the hypocrisy is truly mind-blowing.
If Trudeau actually wanted to help Haitian migrants, he could have easily extended their protections. Instead, he let the protections expire. And yet, has anyone in the media given the Harper government any credit for putting the protections in place to begin with?
Think about it: Trudeau took protections from people already in the country, but is now encouraging people to cross illegally – just so he can get a boost to his image and devalue the meaning of Canada’s laws and borders.
Additionally, the 3,200 Haitian migrants who had protection were invited into our country, so Trudeau is revoking the protection of people who were legally invited in, in order to encourage people crossing illegally. Once again, Trudeau punishes those who show respect for Canada while rewarding those who break our laws.
Apparently then, under Trudeau Canada isn’t so welcoming to those who legally enter the country, we’re only welcoming to those who break our laws.
It’s disgraceful, and it’s a level of cynicism and hypocrisy that is deeply disturbing.
There seems to be no level of deception that the Trudeau government won’t stoop to in order to craft their manipulative image – and the elitist establishment media is playing along every step of the way.
The elites want to hide their many failures behind political correctness, deception, and manipulation. We need to push back and spread the truth.
That’s why I write.
