North Korea has fired ballistic missiles into the sea off the east coast of the Korean peninsula.
According to the South Korean Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the missiles flew 250 kilometers in a northeasterly direction until they landed in the sea.
U.S. Pacific Command released a statement on Twitter in the wake of the launches:

South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in is chairing an emergency National Security meeting following missile launches.
The missile launches comes after the United States had praised North Korea for not making any missile launches since the recent imposition of further sanctions.
