ANTI-DEMOCRATIC: Trudeau Boots Liberal MP Wayne Long Off Two Committees For Voting His Conscience

Yet another campaign promise betrayed by Trudeau.

As I reported yesterday, Liberal MP Wayne Long has been punished by Justin Trudeau for voting his conscience in favour of a Conservative motion to extend the consultation period for Trudeau’s tax hikes on Canadian small businesses.

Long has repeatedly spoken out against the changes in their current form, and is opposed to the way the government has been trying to sell the changes by dividing Canadians.

Now, Long’s punishment has been officially revealed.

He is being kicked off the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills, Social Development, and the Status of Persons with Disabilities, and the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics.

Said Long, “I am deeply disappointed to be removed from my committees, but I respect and understand the party’s decision. I’m proud of the work I’ve done on HUMA and take pride especially in producing the National Report on Poverty Reduction.”

Trudeau totally betrays campaign promise

During the 2015 election, Trudeau promised that MPs could vote their conscience and promised more free votes. Instead, he’s cracking down on dissent, punishing those who speak their minds. Wayne Long should be given credit for taking a tough stand in a Canadian political system that all too-often trends towards the ruthless suppression of free thinking. And Trudeau should be relentlessly criticized and punished at election time for his anti-democratic actions, and total dishonesty with the Canadian people.

It’s yet another example of Trudeau betraying the trust of Canadians, and even his own MPs.
