In the past, ISIS has sought to increase terrorism in Western Nations when they faced setbacks on the Middle Eastern battlefield.
Iraq’s Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared victory over ISIS, saying the country has been “completely liberated.”
“Honorable Iraqis: your land has been completely liberated,” said Abadi. “The dream of liberation is now a reality. We have accomplished a very difficult mission. Our heroes have reached the final strongholds of Daesh and purified it. The Iraqi flag flies high today over all Iraqi lands.”

ISIS still poses a threat
Despite the progress made by Iraq against ISIS, the terrorist organization still poses a serious threat.
In the past, ISIS has sought to step up terrorism in Western countries whenever they faced setbacks on the battlefield, including sending fighters back to their “home” countries.
That’s part of why the U.S., the U.K., France, and others have been eliminating ISIS fighters overseas, to stop them from coming back to cause a threat.
Unfortunately, the Trudeau government has refused to take the same steps, instead seeking to “reintegrate” ISIS members – a decision that is being widely condemned by many Canadians.
