Conservative MP Gord Brown Dies At Age 57 In Parliament Hill Office

Brown passed away from a heart attack.

Parliament is in mourning after Conservative MP Gord Brown was found dead in his Parliament Hill Office.

According to a report, “Paramedics were called to his office on Parliament Hill shortly before 10 a.m. and performed emergency resuscitation efforts on route to the hospital. Conservatives were told Brown had suffered a heart attack during their weekly caucus meeting, which ended early after that news. MPs were later called back into the room and told he had died, and a prayer was said for him.”

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer tweeted his thoughts after Brown’s passing:

“Heartbroken at the passing of our dear friend Gord Brown. A sudden and tragic loss for anyone who knew him. One of the most upbeat guys I’ve known. Please pray for his wife and children as they cope with this terrible loss.”

NDP MP Nathan Cullen said “A good man & colleague died last night in his Parliament Hill office. @gordbrown was an incredibly decent man and father of young children. For all the arguing in politics we are family. To my Conservative friends & to Gord’s family my sincere condolences”

Brown had served as the MP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes since 2004.
