Trudeau Cabinet Ministers & PMO Massively Increasing Their Office & Travel Spending At Taxpayer Expense

Arrogance and elitism in the federal government continues to cost the Canadian People.

While the Trudeau government tells Canadians to tighten our belts and imposes a hated carbon tax that takes money out of our pockets, Justin’s cabinet ministers are massively increasing their office spending far above the rate of inflation.

According to the Hill Times, cabinet minister offices increased their spending by 15% in 2017-2018:

“Innovation Minister Navdeep Bains’ office spent the most out of 33 cabinet offices in 2017-18, while the Prime Minister’s Office spent 10 per cent more compared to the previous fiscal year, according to newly released public accounts figures. In total, ministerial offices spent $56,880,614 in the 2017-18 fiscal year, which stretched from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018. It accounts for a roughly 15 per cent, or $7.5-million, increase compared to the previous fiscal year, in which cabinet offices spent $49,367,397.”

Among the biggest spenders were the offices of innovation minister Navdeep Bains ($2.26 million), and Bill ‘Moneybags’ Morneau ($2.1 million).

Melanie Joly’s office spent a bunch as well, racking up $1.9 million in bills to the taxpayer.

Additionally, “Spending also went up 10.5 per cent at the PMO, totalling $9,329,478 in 2017-18. It marks an increase of $883,168 compared to 2016-17, when the office spent $8,440,310. Almost $8.2-million was spent on personnel and nearly $1-million was for expenses labelled as transportation and communications.”

This is the arrogant elitism of Trudeau’s globalist mindset. While we pay more in taxes (leaving us with less for our own lives and families), the Trudeau Liberals are increasing their globetrotting and adding to their already-bloated offices – all at our expense.

All these rotten POS doesn’t bother them when they know they are screwing the Canadian people, they just keep doing it,hopefully come next election they will be gone

We obviously must find a way to limit elected peoples from too much power, there no longer can be trust that they even like the Canadian taxpayers they are supposed to be representing. 2019 vote Conservative, and hope they can be trusted, to get us out of the U.N. big money dictators clutches.

I think Justin meets with Barak Obama to compare their to do lists on how to ruin a nation!

Over the years the federal has hijacked the legal power of the provinces such as the power to tax which is NOT A RIGHT THAT THE FEDERAL has but they do impose it. Time for the provinces to take back their powers. The reason it was designed that way is to prevent the federal to become a dictatorship. Doesnt it start to smell like that already?

These alleged Pollution Protectors of the Public impose new schemes to separate taxpayers from their money, yet refuse to stop flying everywhere their wee heart’s desire. They say that proper protocol calls for face to face meetings but if they were in tune with the public and pollution as well as listening to their own rhetoric they would know that jet-setting around the world is no good. These Liberals love to fly, and separating plane tickets from them will be harder then Libs separating carbon tax from taxpayers. They quote the UN’s refreshed timelines yet ignore this when planning their… Read more »

I would like to add that I am 100% behind the Oil and Gas industry, live in Alberta and believe this government is the worst. Trudeau has gathered a few journalists that are Carbon Tax- minded Freeland and Syria Loving Weather Girl McKenna, a few select politicians that have dabbled in municipal politics such as Sohi, who has no experience in Infrastructure except for driving a bus down the city streets of Edmonton.
These are the Liberals.

Really folks…have a little sympathy. They are just anticipating the higher cost of caviar, good wine, etc caused by the incoming carbon tax.Their private chefs refuse to cook with cheaper products and also their high end restaurants will be billing more. Some of you will be getting a 300 dollar rebate so you just get out there and enjoy your night out at McDonalds and quit bellyaching.
