Garbage Grumble: Philippine President Duterte Says He’ll “Declare War” On Canada Over Trash

Duterte is prone to outlandish statements, yet his remarks show another sign of how weak Canada is perceived on the world stage.

Philippine’s President Rodrigo Duterte has ‘threatened’ war against Canada over a garbage dispute.

Between 2013 and 2014, a Canadian company shipped tonnes of garbage to the island nation. The Philippine’s says the containers were supposed to contain plastic, but instead contained waste.

Now, Duterte says he will send the garbage back:

“For Canada’s garbage, I want a boat prepared. They better pull that thing out or I will set sail to Canada and dump their garbage there. Let’s fight Canada. I will declare war against them.”

Duterte regularly makes outlandish remarks, and nobody is taking the war threat seriously.

The Canadian government has responded, saying they are willing to work with the Philippine’s to solve the dispute.

Well there is no concern about a real conflict, Duterte’s remarks are another sign of how weak Canada is perceived to be on the world stage.

With a weak leader like Trudeau in charge, and with the Canadian military being undermined by insane political correctness, other nations have no reason to take us seriously, and we are seen as a joke by much of the world.
