Andrew Scheer Calls For Tougher Punishments For Child Abusers

“We will ensure that anyone who harms or sexually exploits a child will be behind bars, where they belong, for a very long time,” says Scheer.

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer continues to unveil his vision for the country.

Today, he spoke about the need for tougher penalties for criminals who abuse children.

In his remarks Scheer said “Under my leadership, a Conservative government will always put the rights of victims ahead of the rights of criminals. “We will ensure that anyone who harms or sexually exploits a child will be behind bars, where they belong, for a very long time.”

Currently, the system is incredibly weak, with the toughest penalty for child abuse being 14 years in prison. Notably, that full sentence is rarely applied, and rarely served even when applied, due to the numerous ways the system is slanted towards criminals.

Scheer’s call for tougher penalties will be well-received by Canadians, who are outraged by the pathetically weak justice system.

We are so divided with all our different laws for different trudeau tribes. This is so needed and the stability will help our economy, but another huge LIEberal mess… Read more »

You either stand against something in it’s entirety or you don’t really stand against it at all. And, let us not forget that Andrew also said that he was pro-life and pro- Free Speech while running for the Conservative Leadership. And where is he now? Seems to be very… Read more »
