Departed Staffer Alleges She Had Affair With Liberal MP Geng Tan, Seeks Child Support

The MP had recently announced he wouldn’t be running again so he could spend more time with his family.

A former staffer for Liberal MP Geng Tan is alleging that she had an affair with him, and is seeking child support from the politician.

Tan had recently surprised many by announcing that he wouldn’t be running again, despite having already been nominated by the Liberals.

According to a Hill Times report, Ying (Stella) Yu, says she had a relationship with Tan, beginning in 2013. The alleged relationship produced a child.

Tan says she was fired without cause, and has not received child support.

Here’s an excerpt:

“She said she sent two letters to the MP through her lawyers in May 2017 and February 2018, demanding to know why she was allegedly fired without cause and to ask for child support for her baby girl who, she said, she had with Mr. Tan. Ms. Yu said she never received any response until last week from Mr. Tan to the two letters. Through a mutual friend, Mr. Tan had allegedly agreed to meet with Ms. Yu on Saturday, June 15, to come up with an agreement about child support payment, but the MP cancelled the meeting saying he was busy campaigning, according to Ms. Yu.”

Tan alleges that she was promised “a life together” with Tan.

The Hill Times says they have spoken with Tan, who said “There was a sperm donation, that’s all I can tell you at the moment.”

Tan is said to be preparing a “serious legal response” to the allegations being made.

As the report importantly notes, none of the allegations have been proven in court.

All things considered, it appears Tan was telling the truth when he said he would be spending more time with family. The only question is, which family was he talking about?
