“The safety of Canadians will be enhanced by putting criminals behind bars, not harassing law-abiding citizens,” says MacKay.
Conservative leadership candidate Peter MacKay says he’ll undo the Liberal attacks on law-abiding gun owners.
MacKay made the comments on Twitter, linking to a Post Millennial article on how the Trudeau cabinet is planning to force through gun ban legislation without any proper consultation, and without looking at the facts.
MacKay says the focus should be on putting criminals behind bars:
“Whatever they do, we will undo. The safety of Canadians will be enhanced by putting criminals behind bars, not harassing law-abiding citizens.”

MacKay is also pushing himself as the “Tough-on-Crime Architect”.
“While I was the Minister of Justice I worked hard to make sure dangerous criminals were behind bars. I worked to end parole for life sentences, and protect victims with the first ever Victim’s Bill of Rights. There’s more where that came from.”

It’s good that Peter McKay will undo the attack on gun owners, will also undo the Liberal attack on Alberta’s energy industry which as basically obliterated Alberta’s economy. We want Peter’s comments on that and carbon taxing before he wastes our time!
He’s got twenty-nine years of attacks on gun owners to undo – twenty-five years of Chretien/Rock Firearms Act and four years of its Mulroney/Campbell predecessor.
The Trudeau/Blair confiscations will be a tad challenging to undo, though.
