Boeing Halts Shares: Will Suspend Operations at Puget Sound

The move to suspend operations at Boeing’s Puget Sounds facilities comes after several employees test positive for the coronavirus. Washington State is currently in a state of emergency.

“These actions are being taken to ensure the well-being of employees, their families and the local community, and will include an orderly shutdown consistent with the requirements of its customers,” Boeing said in a statement.

Boeing’s Washington production workers union announced one employee from Everett, Washington passed away from the virus.

Boeing shares were up 8% before the announcement.
