Erin O’Toole Is Dominating Justin Trudeau In Battle Over Free Speech

Trudeau is totally on the defensive.

One thing we’ve often seen in the past years in Canadian politics is that the Conservatives are repeatedly put on the defensive.

Part of that is due to the bias of the corrupt establishment media.

However, part has also been due to the weakness of the Conservatives, who give in to the Liberal narrative, refuse to go on the offensive, and cede ground to their opponents.

So far, it appears new Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole is avoiding that mistake.

Following Justin Trudeau’s disturbing and dangerous comments on free speech in the wake of the Islamist attacks in France – in which he said free expression ‘has limits,’ Erin O’Toole went on offense, slamming Trudeau’s remarks as you can see in the video below:

In the wake of this sustained offensive, Trudeau has tried desperately backtracking, laughably attempting to rewrite history and pretend he’s a defender of free speech:

Now, it appears that backlash has Trudeau trying to rewrite history, and cast himself as a free speech champion:

“Justin Trudeau was asked by a reporter on Tuesday whether he condemns the publication of cartoons caricaturing the Prophet Muhammad.

“No,” he said, definitively in French. “I think it is important to continue to defend freedom of expression and freedom of speech. Our artists help us to reflect and challenge our views, and they contribute to our society.”

Lest there was any room for confusion about the prime minister’s free speech credentials, he reinforced the point in English. “Our journalists, our artists have an important challenge function in our society and we need to leave them free to do their work. I have always believed that and I’ve always said it.”

Yeah, sure bro.

Trudeau has NEVER said that, except for him saying it just now.

This is total gaslighting, as he tries to simply pretend he didn’t say everything else we know he said.

Trudeau on defense

O’Toole and the backlash against Trudeau’s comments have put him on the defensive, forcing him to – at least rhetorically – move towards the Conservative pro-free speech position.

This is an important lesson.

Sustained pushback, strength, and the willpower to dominate the narrative can put Trudeau and the Liberals on defense, even when the establishment media is in the tank for them.
