Disaster For Patrick Brown Campaign As Two MPs Defect To Support Pierre Poilievre

Brown’s desperate, extreme, and unhinged attacks on Poilievre seem to have backfired.

Days after attempting to generate momentum by announcing their membership sales figure – a number that was rapidly dwarfed by Pierre Poilievre’s over 300,000 memberships, the Brown campaign is facing a disastrous situation.

Up until today, Patrick Brown had only four Conservative MPs endorsing him.

Now, that number has been cut in half.

Kyle Seeback – the MP for Dufferin-Caledon – and Dan Muys – the MP for Flamborough-Glanbrook – have both defected from the Patrick Brown campaign and are now supporting Pierre Poilievre:

“I believe there’s one candidate – one my constituents support – who can unite conservatives & Canadians to become our next PM.

That’s @PierrePoilievre.

Let’s put the divisiveness away, unite our movement behind #Pierre4PM & defeat Justin Trudeau to win the next election.”

“@kyleseeback is right. Over the past month, I’ve been helping Ont. PC candidates in my spare time & haven’t been engaged in the @CPC_HQ leadership. I am increasingly concerned about the divisiveness.

Let’s unify behind @PierrePoilevre

Canada needs him & us to get this done.”

Rejecting the divisive Patrick Brown campaign

As much as the establishment media has tried to claim that Poilievre is divisive, the fact is that he is – objectively – the least divisive candidate in the CPC leadership race.

That’s because he has the highest net-approval rating of all candidates, with his supporters far outweighing his detractors among CPC voters.

By contrast, the net approval of Patrick Brown and Jean Charest is much lower, and they are both far more divisive.

It’s no coincidence that both Seeback and Muys mentioned “divisiveness” in their announcement that they were switching to the Poilievre campaign.

The Patrick Brown campaign has been launching increasingly desperate and unhinged attacks against Poilievre, attacks that seem as if they were written by far-left radicals rather than Conservatives.

Muys and Seeback are likely wanting to distance themselves from those divisive tactics, and get on board with a campaign that has been sharing much more unifying messages of freedom, limited government, personal liberty, sound money, and fiscal responsibility.

As a result, it’s a disaster for the Patrick Brown campaign, as he is now reduced to just two endorsements from CPC MPs – Michelle Rempel Garner & Doug Shipley.

Conversely, it’s a big day for the Poilievre campaign, as they can build on their huge membership number and continue to strengthen their momentum going forward.
