Using Your Taxpayer Dollars, CBC Gave Out Big Raises & Bonuses

Interesting how ‘shared sacrifice’ never seems to include the government.

In theory, the government is supposed to represent and serve the people.

But that has long since ceased to be the case.

Instead, the government arrogantly rules over the people.

The government produces nothing, while extracting more and more money from hard-working Citizens.

While Canadians struggle, the government enriches itself at our expense.

Those in the government exempt themselves from the economic challenges facing the rest of us.

And it’s no surprise that CBC has gotten in on the act.

As reported by Blacklock’s based upon information obtained by the highly-respected Canadian Taxpayers Federation, CBC used your tax dollars to give out tons of bonuses and raises:

“The CBC last year paid nearly $12 million in raises in addition to $15.4 million in bonuses while management complained it was under “immense pressure” due to the pandemic, records show. Access To Information records obtained by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation confirmed pay hikes and perks were paid even as cabinet qualified the CBC for a Covid bailout: “Taxpayers have every right to question why the CBC is taking so much.””

Poilievre & Baber rip CBC

In response to the news, Pierre Poilievre & Roman Baber both ripped the CBC and called for it to be defunded:

“Last year, the CBC double-dipped into the taxpayer funded Trudeau trough for bonuses + pandemic benefits.

That’s on top of more than a billion $ in annual funding they get off the backs of hardworking Canadians struggling to pay for basic necessities.

Defund the CBC.”

“I propose we defund and spin-off the CBC on our first day in government.

Moreover, do not let Rogers or Bell buy it. We need to break media monopolies not encourage them.”

Poilievre & Baber are right.

Canadians should not be forced to pay for state propagandists who live it up at our expense.
