Why Is The Liberal Government Using Your Tax Dollars To Fund Someone With Hateful Attitudes Under The Guise Of ‘Anti-Racism’?

Canadians deserve answers.

There are about 38 million people in Canada.

Thus, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find someone who hasn’t said a bunch of anti-Semitic things.

Particularly if someone is being hired by the government for an ‘anti-racism’ project.

Now, I personally think those kind of government programs are a problem from the start, since they often amount to government efforts to promote a specific partisan narrative, and since Canadians’ taxpayer dollars would be better left in the hands of those who earned them.

With that said, it appears the Liberals somehow managed to make one of the worst hires of all time.

The Liberals gave over $133,000 of your taxpayer dollars to the Community Media Advocacy Centre (CMAC), for a program to confront discrimination in the broadcasting industry.

Laith Marouf is a senior consultant at CMAC.

On April 14, 2022, he was quoted in the press release on the launch of the taxpayer funded project:

“Mr. Laith Marouf, Senior Consultant, CMAC: “As an organization with a commitment and history of mobilizing grassroots knowledge to inform media policy-making in Canada, CMAC is excited to launch the ‘Building an Anti-Racism Strategy for Canadian Broadcasting: Conversation & Convergence’ initiative with funding support from Canadian Heritage’s Anti-Racism Action Program. We see this as a timely intervention with the potential to shape how Racialized Canadians experience the media space. We are grateful to Canadian Heritage for their partnership and the trust imposed in us and commit to ensuring the successful and responsible execution of this project.””

Ahmed Hussen was also quoted:

“The Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion: “In Canada, diversity is a fact, but inclusion is a choice. Our government is proud to contribute to the initiative ‘Building an Anti-Racism Strategy for Canadian Broadcasting: Conversation & Convergence.’ Together, let’s continue to build a country that is better, fairer, and more inclusive for everybody, and work together to address issues such as the barriers faced by racialized Canadians. Thank you to CMAC for opening these discussions.””

Here’s the thing though. It would seem that Marouf holds some pretty horrendous views, views that fall quite short of being ‘inclusive.’

This is a screenshot of a Tweet from Marouf found by Jonathan Kay, who originally broke the story:

Here’s another Tweet from Marouf:

“1/2 If you think tweets promoting hate by a contractor at 🇨🇦funded org mentioned in @nationalpost
are offensive, take a👀at THIS! 👇

🇨🇦 must review its $ policies to ensure hate promoting figures aren’t given a platform to further the hate the programs are designed to eliminate.”

Marouf’s comments are horrendous.

The fact that the Liberals gave your taxpayer dollars to him so he and his organization could lecture to Canadians about racism is appalling.

So why would the Liberals do this?

Is it just ignorance?

Or is it something more?

Well, we know that – behind the scenes of course – it is likely that there are some Liberal MPs who share Marouf’s horrendous views. We’ve seen other Liberal MPs attend events – and even posing for pictures next to – people with anti-Israel signs. From a public relations perspective, the Liberals have done a relatively effective job keeping a lid on too much of that getting out, but it seems to seep through now and then.

We will never know for sure whether this was maliciousness or mendacity on the part of the Liberals, but doubt will always remain. The Liberals now claim they are conducting a ‘probe’ into the matter.

And of course, consider the pathetic arrogance of Trudeau who calls Canadians he disagrees with ‘racists’ without evidence while the Liberal government funds actual discriminatory attitudes. Trudeau is always doing what he attacks others for.

This debacle should be further evidence of why the government shouldn’t be spending our tax dollars on these programs at all.

Let private organizations – and the inherent goodness of Canadians – deal with addressing the few rare pockets of racism that still exist in our country. Obviously, the government can’t be trusted to spend our money wisely.
