Guilbeault The Gaslighter: Environment Minister Spreads Misinformation On Carbon Tax

For a government that’s ostensibly so concerned about ‘misinformation,’ they sure love to share it.

Recently, Justin Trudeau lied about the carbon tax, claiming most Canadians are better off once the rebate is considered.

Trudeau’s claim is simply wrong, as I noted here:

“Here’s what Parliamentary Budget Officer Yves Giroux said about the impact of the carbon tax:

“”Incorporating economic impacts into our distributional analysis helps to provide a more complete picture of the overall impact of the federal carbon pricing system on households under the federal backstop.

Under the Government’s HEHE plan, most households in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario will see a net loss resulting from federal carbon pricing. That is, the costs they face—including the federal carbon levy, higher GST and lower incomes—will exceed the Climate Action Incentive rebate they receive.””

Yet, despite the facts contradicting their claims, the Liberals continue to lie.

Here’s what Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault said:

“Preying on the fears of people facing energy insecurity for your own political gain is wrong, @pierrepoilievre.

“Keep the heat on” ignores the fact pollution pricing gives more back to 8 out of 10 with low income benefiting the most.

Money that can go towards energy savings.”

Guilbeault isn’t being honest.

The distributional analysis from the Parliamentary Budget Officer shows the majority of households in provinces where the carbon tax applies are worse off.

Guilbeault suddenly opposes “preying on fears”?

The entire messaging behind the Liberal ‘climate plan’ and Guilbeault’s rhetoric is all about guilt and fear.

The Liberals have a significant percentage of Canada’s population convinced that the planet will be wrecked unless we crush our own energy sector and make everything more expensive with a carbon tax.

For Guilbeault to now claim he opposes “preying on fears” is hilarious.

Guilbeault is trying to gaslight Canadians and stop people from seeing how counterproductive and damaging his radical policies are.
