Why Does Jagmeet Singh Say “Fightback” Rather Than “Fight Back”?

Under Singh’s ‘leadership,’ the NDP has become an odd mash-up of increasingly aggressive socialist rhetoric combined with a supine acquiescence to Trudeau’s agenda.

I’ve lost track of how many articles I’ve written about Jagmeet Singh’s incoherent political approach.

Singh postures as a big opponent of the Liberals – pretending the NDP is a real opposition party – while his actions keep the Liberals in power and enable the Trudeau government to avoid accountability.

Singh’s rhetoric is also becoming more and more openly aggressive and socialist.

Perhaps it’s no big surprise that he keeps Trudeau in power, given that Trudeau is much more of a socialist ideologically than he is an old school classical liberal.

The Liberals are increasingly a socialist-leaning party that has hollowed out the Liberal brand and hides within it.

And now, Singh seems to be feel emboldened enough to make even more explicitly socialist and marxist appeals.

One thing you’ll notice if you look at Singh’s Tweets is that he regularly says “fightback,” rather than “fight back.”

“Government after government has repeatedly withheld real help from you and your family. I’ve seen it happen. But I’ve also seen what’s possible when we fightback. New Democrats are going to fight for every bit of help and hope for Canadians. That’s a promise.”

This isn’t just a random word choice, it has a meaning, and it is a message directed towards hardcore socialists/marxists.

Consider this, from marxist.ca:

“Fightback is a revolutionary organization fighting for the socialist transformation of society. We are the Canadian section of the International Marxist Tendency. We actively seek to educate workers and youth in the genuine ideas of Marxism, in order to fight back against capitalist attacks and austerity.”

This is not a coincidence.

Singh is using socialist/marxist rhetoric, and is doing so at a time when he is attempting to blame inflation on grocery stores to distract from his support for inflationary Liberal policies.

Far-left populism

We hear a lot about populism, usually as a ‘scary’ right-wing bogeyman.

Yet, Singh is pushing far-left populism, using the same kind of dangerous socialist rhetoric of attacking the wealthy and directing hate towards financially successful people in order to divide society and justify huge increases in centralized government power that has caused so much violence and suffering throughout history.

Canadians need to be aware of what Singh is doing, and call out his extreme rhetoric.

Our country needs more rational and reasonable voices, not the socialist ranting of Singh and the NDP.
