POLL: Conservatives Lead, Half Of Canadians Pessimistic On Standard Of Living

Just 29% agree Canada is making progress towards a higher standard of living.

A new Nanos survey shows the Conservatives leading over the Liberals nationally.

According to the survey, 34% of Canadians would vote Conservative, unchanged since the last election.

30% say they will vote Liberals, down 3 points from 2021.

The NDP is at 20% (+2), and the BQ is at 9% (+1).

The Greens are at 5% (+3), while the PPC are at 3% (-2).

Other questions asked in the same poll indicated why the Liberals are trailing.

While a majority feel Canada is doing well on economic policies in relation to equal opportunities, a plurality disagree that the country is moving in the right direction on economic growth:

Agree: 53%
Disagree: 23%

Unsure: 24%

And, in a sign of significant pessimism regarding our standard of living in Canada, 50% disagreed with the statement “Canada is moving in the right direction when it comes to making sure Canadians have a high standard of living”:
