Jagmeet Singh Is Now Obviously Running Interference For Justin Trudeau

Singh and the NDP are fulfilling the role of providing pretend opposition while actually distracting from China’s attempts to keep Trudeau in office.

Yesterday in Question Period, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh made a fool of himself and once again ‘inspired’ rampant laughter in the House of Commons by claiming the Liberals and Conservatives were both opposed to a public inquiry into foreign election interference.

Singh made the claim knowing it was false, since he has been in the House of Commons watching the Conservatives repeatedly ask for a public inquiry. Singh has also – in previous comments – noted that the Conservatives, Bloc, and NDP all want a public inquiry and that only Justin Trudeau & the Liberals were opposed.

But now, it’s clear that Jagmeet Singh’s absurd remarks in Question Period weren’t a one-off. They are part of a planned strategy – surely with the participation of the Liberals – to make the entire issue confusing and direct blame onto the Conservatives. On social media, Singh and the NDP are doubling-down on the claim:

This is flat out dishonesty from Singh and the NDP. They are making things up in order to help provide political cover to Justin Trudeau and the Liberals.

Remember, all indications are that China wanted Justin Trudeau to stay in power and wanted to defeat Conservative candidates because the CPC was seen as too tough on China. The vast majority of those believed to be part of China’s influence operations are Liberals. While two Conservatives are alleged to be part of it, the response from the federal Conservative Party and Ontario PC Party have been in stark contrast to the response of the federal Liberal Party.

Vincent Ke immediately left the Ontario PC Caucus after reports alleged he was part of China’s foreign interference operations (Ke denies the allegations). Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has asked CSIS to provide him with any information they have on Conservatives allegedly involved in China’s influence operations, and says he will remove those who are doing the bidding of Beijing.

By contrast, Justin Trudeau has refused to take any similar action and hasn’t removed anybody. In fact, Trudeau defended Liberal MP Han Dong after reports emerged saying he was involved in China’s foreign interference operations (Dong denies the allegations) and attacked those who question any MPs allegiance to the country.

Again, Singh knows all of this. Making things even more egregious is that one of Singh’s own MPs was targeted for defeat by China according to various reports. Jenny Kwan – an MP in Vancouver – was re-elected, yet she was allegedly someone the Chinese Communist Party wanted to defeat. By helping Trudeau cover-up China’s foreign interference, and by trying to blame the Conservatives instead of holding Trudeau accountable, Singh not only disrespects the broader Canadian public, he disrespects his own MPs and members who think Canada should stand up against the ruthless Chinese Communist State.

Singh continues to skate along on his ‘nice’ image, but Canadians have to start seeing what he’s really doing. By running interference for Justin Trudeau, Singh is doing immense damage to our country and he’s helping to ensure that China’s interference in our democracy will go unchallenged. That’s something no Canadian can accept.
