Trudeau Foundation Scandal Deepens: Ex-President Alleges Deception Over Chinese Donation

Pascale Fournier says the Foundation misled Canadians. Who was in charge of the Foundation when the alleged deception took place? The guy Justin Trudeau appointed to write a report on China’s election interference.

The more we look, the worse it gets.

That sums up the Trudeau Foundation, amid the ongoing China election interference scandal.

And, given Justin Trudeau’s connections to the Foundation, each new revelation makes him look even worse as well.

This week, we learned that the former President of the Trudeau Foundation – Pascale Fournier – believed the Foundation misled Canadians in regard to a large donation from two Chinese businessmen.

According to Fournier, in late 2016 the Trudeau Foundation – led at the time by Morris Rosenberg – claimed the donation was “Canadian”:

Turns out, the donation explicitly mentioned China. Here’s what Fournier said:

“This was a declaration on behalf of the foundation to say that it was not foreign money, that it was Canadian money. This was in the annual report as well. When, in fact, the tax receipt itself mentions China. So, I think this is something that is misleading to Canadians.”

You can watch more of Fornier’s remarks in the videos below:

“Pascale Fournier, former CEO of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, testifies that she had questions about donation receipts issued by her predecessor, Morris Rosenberg, the man who also wrote a report on foreign interference for Trudeau:

“One mentions an address in China.””

“Pascale Fournier, former Trudeau Foundation CEO, describes how her property (including her phone) was promptly confiscated at her home following her resignation over a controversial Chinese donation:

“They insisted on the fact that they wanted to read all of the text messages.””

“Pascale Fournier, former Trudeau Foundation president, throws Morris Rosenberg (the man who wrote a report on foreign influence for Trudeau) under the bus, saying he mislead Canadians when he said the Chinese donation was not foreign:

“In fact, the tax receipt mentions China.””

“Pascale Fournier, former Trudeau Foundation CEO, testifies she doesn’t know why Justin Trudeau’s brother Alexandre’s name appears on the signing of a controversial Chinese donation because he shouldn’t have had that authority:

“I tried to do some research to understand that.””

Now, if the name Morris Rosenberg sounds familiar, its because he happens to be the same fellow who wrote a report on China’s election interference for the federal government – a role he was appointed to by Justin Trudeau:

“Since Justin Trudeau took office, donations to the Trudeau foundation have surged.

Donations from individuals connected to the Chinese Communist Party also surged.

This interest ‘coincidence’ is receiving newfound attention.

The Trudeau government has appointed Morris Rosenberg to a report on foreign interference in Canadian elections.

What makes this notable is that Morris Rosenberg was the CEO of the Trudeau Foundation from 2014-2018.”

So, Justin Trudeau appointed someone to write about a report on election interference, and that person happened to be someone who was in charge of the Trudeau Foundation at a time when – according to their past President – the Trudeau Foundation tried to deceive Canadians about a donation from China – something that itself would be part of any real public inquiry into foreign interference. Of course, Trudeau isn’t letting that inquiry happen.

Only the most cult-like Trudeau supporters could fail to see how bad this looks. When you also consider that David Johnston was part of the Trudeau Foundation, this whole thing looks like the federal government has been massively compromised by China, and is now desperately trying to pretend they are ‘investigating’ themselves.

The fact that the Foundation – as referenced in the videos above – was so desperate to get all the info they could from Fournier when she resigned also demonstrates their fear of the truth being revealed.

This is a very disturbing moment for our country. A government that is supposed to work for Canadians and protect our individual rights is more interested in protecting their own power while allowing authoritarian states to gain more and more influence within our borders.
