Compromised Loyalty: The Trudeau Liberals Are Sacrificing Canada’s Security For China’s Benefit

They know the actions our allies have taken to confront China’s influence. Yet they refuse to do the same. The Liberals lost the benefit of the doubt long ago, and now it’s time to ask some very difficult questions.

The fallout over the latest bombshell China story continues. In case you missed it, here’s a quick recap:

“But now, the true extent of the Trudeau Liberals’ willingness to betray our values and betray Canadians has been revealed.

A new Globe & Mail report on a CSIS intelligence assessment mentioned that the family of a Conservative MP was targeted as part of China’s intimidation strategy. A national security source told the Globe & Mail that the MP in question was Michael Chong, and that he was targed by Chinese diplomat Zhao Wei. Chong had been – and remains – one of the strongest critics of China’s authoritarian Communist government.

In response, Chong released a statement indicating the Trudeau government never told him that his family was being targeted.”

In Question Period, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre ripped into Trudeau:

“Conservative leader @PierrePoilievre grills PM Justin Trudeau on foreign election interference after a new report by The Globe and Mail revealed that Chinese intelligence targeted Canadian MPs for condemning China’s oppression of Uyghurs.”

A gigantic contradiction in Trudeau’s response

Judging by Trudeau’s body language in response Poilievre’s questioning, he realizes how bad this looks.

The problem is that his claim to be looking into it is a massive contradiction.

The document warning of China’s intimidation efforts against MP Chong’s family is from 2021. Yet, as noted by Norman Spector, when Trudeau’s chief of staff Katie Telford testified, she said that nothing is kept from the Prime Minister.

“Hey, @stevenchase: Me I remember@telfordk testifying that nothing is kept from the Prime Minister, and I didn’t hear the Prime Minister say that this morning’s report by you and @RobertFife was inaccurate. Am I missing something?”

Either she was lying then, or Trudeau knew about this back in 2021 and did nothing. Absolutely nothing. Didn’t kick out the diplomat. Didn’t tell the nation. Didn’t warn MP Chong’s family. Nothing.

Here’s the thing:

If Trudeau knew about this, and did nothing, it’s more than just incompetence or even neglect. It would amount to direct collusion with China’s foreign interference efforts. It would amount to Justin Trudeau giving every indication that he would rather serve a foreign Communist dictatorship than serve the country he supposedly represents.

After all, when China’s influence efforts go unopposed, China wins, and Canada loses. China benefits, and Canada is harmed.

And this would call into question everything the federal government does. This is the situation we are facing as a country. We can’t even count on the most basic thing from Trudeau – loyalty to our country.
