As He Tries To Wreck The Western Canadian Energy Sector, Steven Guilbeault Is Heading To China To Make Nice With The Communist Regime

Is the government aware of how bad this looks? Or do they just not care what Canadians think?

Talk about failing to read the room.

At a time when Canadians are being slammed by the cost-of-living crisis in large part because of Liberal policies like the carbon tax and the Liberal attack on the oil & gas sector, eco-radical environment minister Steven Guilbeault is heading to Communist China to make nice with the CCP regime.

And, it turns out he is also and advisor to the Chinese Communist government itself.

This was revealed in an interview Guilbeault conducted with the National Observer.

Here are some extended excerpts:

“In an exclusive English media interview with Canada’s National Observer, Guilbeault described the trip to China he’ll be taking at the end of August to attend a meeting of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development — a high-level body that advises China on environmental and development issues. Guilbeault was invited by his Chinese counterpart and said he believes this is the first time a federal minister from Canada has travelled to China since 2018 — a sign his diplomatic approach is working.

“Maybe some [political opponents] will try and attack me” for travelling to China amid tensions between the two countries, Guilbeault said. “I am clearly a lightning rod for some of them, but I think Canadians in general will understand how important it is. We can’t solve climate change, you can’t solve the international biodiversity issue, without working with countries like China.”

Guilbeault is making very clear that he intends to try and placate China, rather than

“Guilbeault said his strategy is not to go and tell China what he thinks they should do, but rather he wants to look for common ground. For example, he said one of the sticking points in international climate diplomacy today is whether countries can agree to phasing out fossil fuels that don’t use some form of carbon capture technology by 2050. Given China is one of the world’s major consumers of fossil fuels and Canada is one of the world’s top producers, there’s room for conversation about “how we can work together on that in the lead-up to COP28,” he said.

Other potential space for collaboration includes ongoing negotiations around compensating poorer countries for climate impacts (called loss and damage financing) and how to breathe life into the global biodiversity framework inked last year in Montreal so that it doesn’t become yet another set of unmet targets.”

Guilbeault is an advisor on a Chinese Communist Party-run committee

If it isn’t bad enough that Guilbeault is making nice with China, he is also directly part of a committee run by the Chinese Communist Party itself, in what seems to be a massive conflict of interest given his role as Canada’s environment minister:

As noted by Brian Lilley, “Guilbeault is also currently listed as Executive Vice Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the CCICED.”

The CCICED is run by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the Chinese Communist State.

Making nice with China while trying to weaken Western Canada

As Steven Guilbeault advises Communist China – a nation that kidnapped two Canadian Citizens, is interfering in our democracy, has helped back Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, is committing genocide against the Uyghurs, and is threatening to invade Taiwan – he’s attacking Western Canada and trying to crush the oil & gas sector with his extreme ‘net zero’ by 2035 plan.

This has forced Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe to fight back against Guilbeault’s radicalism:

You’ve surely noticed that Guilbeault shows aggression and disdain when dealing with Western Canada, and openly seeks to undermine the key industries of the West, while showing empathy and respect towards Communist China.

We see the same pattern with Justin Trudeau, who has never shown the same level of anger towards China that he has towards people in parts of the country that ‘dare’ to vote Conservative and oppose his political agenda.

Real leaders are able to set aside internal political disputes and understand that their first duty is always to protect the interests of their own Citizens, and then their democratic allies in other nations, long before considering what hostile Communist States and authoritarian dictatorships want.

Yet, Guilbeault and Trudeau seem to have this completely backwards.

They demonize and divide their own fellow Citizens, seek to pit region against region, and seek to use government power to crush entire sectors in Conservative parts of the country, while doing everything possible to placate Communist China.

Not only that, but Guilbeault is literally part of a committee within China’s government, raising serious doubts about who is actually working for. This also makes the Liberal refusal to hold a public inquiry into China’s interference look even more suspicious.

Clearly, the radicalism of Guilbeault and Trudeau is a threat not only to our economy, but to our national unity, and – given Guibeault’s advisory role with China – potentially our national security as well.

Both of them have no business remaining in office. Canadians have the right to know we can trust our leaders to at the very least work in the interests of Canada, and Guilbeault and Trudeau simply don’t meet that low bar.
