REPORT: Sarah Jama Removed From Ontario NDP Caucus

Jama had blamed Israel for the horrific actions of Hamas terrorists, and continued to double down on her vile stance.

NDP MPP Sarah Jama – who had caused massive outrage for blaming Israel for Hamas’ horrific actions following the October 7th attack – has finally been removed from the NDP Caucus.

As a refresher, this is the vile stance Jama took following Hamas’ attack:

Jama also attended a rally where some attendees expressed support for a Hamas – a genocidal terrorist organization that is pushing for another Holocaust.

Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles had long resisted removing Jama, leading to many feeling the NDP was thus condoning anti-Semitism.

However, Jama’s refusal to stop demonizing and attacking Israel – combined with the disturbing rise in anti-Semitism across Canada – led the Ontario NDP leader to finally remove her:

“BREAKING: NDP Leader @MaritStiles has ejected defiant MPP @SarahJama_ from caucus. “She has undertaken a number of unilateral actions that have undermined our collective work and broken the trust of her colleagues.” Making workplace unsafe, says Stiles. #onpoli”

Long overdue

Obviously, Jama should have been removed immediately after her first vile post and her attendance at a rally which featured pro-Hamas terrorist sentiment.

Still, doing the right thing late is better than doing the right thing never, and the Ontario NDP has done the right thing by removing Jama.

It’s important not only because of Jama specifically, but also because our society must re-establish the strong taboo against anti-Semitism that has unfortunately broken down in the past few weeks. While it is often difficult to change people’s minds, societies can make it clear that they won’t put up with anti-Semitism and that those who hold anti-Semitic views will not be given any room to spread such vile viewpoints.
