The tide is turning against Hahn.
The tide continues to turn against CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn.
For months, Hahn has been making common cause with some of the most radical anti-Israel and anti-Semitic groups in the country – something many people feel has contributed to the disturbing surge of anti-Semitism in this country.
Yet, internal opposition to Hahn within CUPE had not reached a high enough level to weaken his position.
But now, that has changed.
In the wake of Hahn sharing a video on social media that was widely viewed as deeply anti-Semitic, the tide has begun to turn.
The CUPE national executive called for Hahn to resign.
And now, CUPE Hamilton is calling for Hahn to either resign immediately or be removed from his post:

While these calls for Hahn’s removal should have happened long ago, doing the right thing late is better than doing the right thing never.
At a time when our Canadian Jewish community is under attack, all Canadians should be standing against anti-Semitic hatred.
There is no place in Canada for the kind of anti-Semitism pushed by Fred Hahn, and it’s good to see more and more members of CUPE recognizing this.
