CTV News Fires Two Employees For Splicing Poilievre Footage

The move comes after the Conservatives said they would not engage further with CTV News until a further acknowledgment of the deceptive editing.

CTV News has fired two employees and issued a further apology after the network spliced footage of Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre.

The unedited footage had shown Poilievre calling for a carbon tax election. Yet, his remarks were spliced (in a way that was clearly not accidental) to give the false impression he was seeking to defeat the government over the dental care program.

The Conservatives slammed CTV’s manipulative editing and said the initial apology wasn’t enough. The CPC has said they would not further engage with CTV News until a full acknowledgment of the footage splicing was given.

CTV News has responded, revealing that they investigated the issue and fired two employees.
