Pierre Poilievre Dominates With Massive Lead In Number Of Donors, Crushing Huawei Charest

Poilievre had nearly 70% of donors in Q2. By contrast, Charest got just 8%, trailing Leslyn Lewis.

With the CPC releasing Q2 financial numbers, the information regarding the CPC leadership race is quite something.

Unsurprisingly, Pierre Poilievre led with over $4 million raised.

Charest was in second with nearly $1.4 million.

Leslyn Lewis raised over $700,000.

Roman Baber raised over $500,000.

And Scott Aitchison raised just over $360,000.

But the real shock was in total donors – a number more indicative of true support in the party.

Poilievre had a whopping 36,804 donors.

Lewis had the second most, with 5,523.

Charest was in third, with 4,191.

Baber was close behind Charest with 4,171.

Aitchison had 1,081 donors.

As a percentage, 69% of all donors gave to Poilievre, with Lewis getting 10% and Baber & Charest tied with 8%.

On Twitter, Bryan Breguet shared the provincial breakdown of the numbers, showing Poilievre’s widespread dominance:

Charest doesn’t lead in any province, not even in Quebec.

He did raise more in Quebec than Poilievre, but with far fewer donors.

In most of the country, Lewis beats Charest, as does Baber in some provinces.

Charest is really only competitive in Quebec, and gets absolutely demolished everywhere else.

In Ontario, Baber – a courageous politician who Canada needs as a CPC MP in Parliament – beats Charest by a wide margin, with 14% of donors to Charest’s 8%.

The energy is with those who showed courage, and Canadians are rejecting the out-of-touch establishment

It’s important to point out that Pierre Poilievre, Leslyn Lewis, and Roman Baber have all been willing to stand strong for their principles even in the face of dishonest attacks from the establishment media.

That political courage is what generates support, and what encourages people to give to a cause they believe in.

By contrast, the whole Charest campaign has a highly manufactured feel, with the establishment media and political class doing everything to boost his campaign, even as it became increasingly obvious that many weren’t buying into it.

When we also consider that Charest worked for Communist-China-Controlled Huawei, which rightfully enrages many Conservative Canadians, and the attempt to impose Charest on the CPC seems even more odd.

These donor numbers demonstrate just how dramatically Charest’s grassroots support pales in comparison to Poilievre.

It seems Canadian Conservatives haven’t been fooled by Huawei Charest.
