Indications prior to Trudeau’s remarks are that he will call for a new national security committee investigation, and consultations on the creation of a foreign agent registry.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is holding a press conference on foreign election interference.
Prior to his remarks, the Canadian Press reported that Trudeau would call for a new investigation at the national security committee, and push for consultations on the creation of a foreign agent registry:
“Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to ask Parliament’s national security committee to launch a new investigation of foreign interference in Canada.
Two Liberal sources, who were granted anonymity to discuss matters not yet public, confirmed to The Canadian Press that Trudeau would announce the news on Parliament Hill later Monday.
They also said he will formally announce public consultations to create a registry for foreign agents similar to one that exists in Australia.”
