Canada Should Praise & Encourage Our Wealthy & Successful Citizens, Not Demonize Them For Political Gain

Trudeau’s ‘envy-based’ politics are disastrous.

The capital gains tax hike being pushed by Justin Trudeau & Chrystia Freeland is an obvious act of political desperation.

But it’s more than that.

It’s also an appeal to the kind of envy-based politics that have always had disastrous effects throughout history.

And it comes at the worst possible time for Canada.

Our country is in the midst of a productivity crisis.

Our per capita GDP is declining.

Entrepreneurs and business leaders who are able to go to the United States will find themselves in an environment where they can make more money and pay less taxes.

Many are already planning to leave, as they see Canada heading in a more socialist direction.

Prime Movers

Our country needs prime movers, those who show the will and determination to create wealth and value.

In a relatively free market economy, most rich & successful citizens became so by providing value to others and moving society and civilization forward.

A successful businessperson becomes rich because they provide a product or service that people value and freely choose to purchase.

And so, if we want to be a country where people can flourish and prosper, we should be celebrating the achievements of the wealthy instead of encouraging envy and stagnation. Upping the capital gains tax will only push away the people Canada needs the most.

Instead of taking more from the rich and demonizing the wealthy for political gain, Canada should be focused on ensuring every Canadian can become wealthier, and that means freeing up our most ambitious, creative, and talented citizens so they can help move Canada forward.
