LABOUR DAY: Trudeau & Singh Have Abandoned Canadian Workers

By supporting the massive expansion of the Temporary Foreign Worker program, the Liberals & NDP have forfeited any claim they once may have had to being ‘pro-worker’ parties.

This Labour Day, political leaders will express their support for Canadian workers.

Canadian workers are also expressing themselves, with surveys indicating the Conservatives have a huge lead, a lead built in part by a political realignment among Canadian workers. Working-class Canadians – including unionized workers – now support the Conservatives over the Liberals & NDP.

And this is happening in large part because the Liberals & NDP made a deliberate choice to prioritize cheap foreign labour over Canadian workers.

The Liberal-NDP pact massively expanded the Temporary Foreign Worker program, driving down the bargaining power of Canadian workers, and making it far tougher for many Canadians to even find jobs in the first place.

You’ll notice that much of this surge took place after the Liberal-NDP pact came into force.

And this is a large part of why Canadian workers have abandoned those parties.

By supporting such an extreme surge of cheap foreign labour, the Liberals & NDP have forfeited any claim they once may have had of being ‘pro-worker’ parties.

This Labour Day, that’s something we must all remember.
