WATCH: Professor Michael Geist On Why Accountability Is Needed Amid Rise Of Anti-Semitism

Professor Geist noted that he was targeted by Laith Marouf, and even smeared as a ‘racist’ for bringing up anti-Semitism in the past.

Professor Michael Geist is best known to most Canadians as a staunch defender of freedom of expression and a strong opponent of legislation like Bill C-11 and C-18.

Professor Geist has become a highly-respected voice on those issues, and for good reason.

In normal times, that is all Geist would be talking about.

But these aren’t normal times.

Speaking in Parliament on the broader issue of regulatory capture in relation to C-11 & C-18, Geist also took a moment to discuss the rise of anti-Semitism.

Geist – whose grandparents were Holocaust survivors – noted that he was targeted by Liberal government-hire Laith Marouf, and implored people to take the rise of anti-Semitism seriously.

You can watch his remarks below:

“The grandson of Holocaust survivors, @mgeist, made a heartfelt appeal to take antisemitism seriously.

He highlighted notorious anti-Semite, Laith Marouf, who has targeted Geist directly and who was hired by the Liberal government to do anti-racism training. He mentioned the Liberal MP ( @Chris_Bittle) who accused him of racism for suggesting the Heritage Minister should have said something to address the taxpayer-funded contract to an anti-Semite.

The Liberals claim to care about harmful language, but their outrage seems to grow thin when the slanderous and racist language comes from within their own camp.”

Geist’s words are important, and he is 100% correct that there must be accountability.

We are witnessing something truly dark and disturbing happening in our country, with anti-Semites emboldened like never before and truly barbaric attitudes rising up.

All of us who support the Jewish community, who support freedom, and who support Western Civilization need to stand up and speak out now, to ensure that the barbaric anti-Semites never get the upper hand.
