Spencer Fernando is a Canadian writer. He writes about politics and the longer view beneath it, looking past the noise of the week to what still matters years and decades out.
He has worked in and around both politics and journalism, which gives him a practitioner’s understanding of how policy is actually made and how it’s communicated. His writing draws on that experience, but it is oriented toward what could be built more than toward the day’s dispute.
SpencerFernando.com is where he publishes shorter pieces on the questions of the day, written from the longer view. His work has also appeared in The Hub and the Winnipeg Sun, among others.
The full-length essays are on Patreon, where he is building The Long Work: an argument assembled over years rather than weeks, essay by essay, on the ideas and foundations the future gets built on.
His work answers to no one but readers. No government subsidies, no grants, no strings.
