With Efforts Still Lagging Many Other Countries, Trudeau Government Says Canadian Evacuees From Wuhan Will Be Quarantined

Many Canadians are wondering why full flight restrictions on China haven’t been implemented, as other countries go much further than Canada in protecting their citizens.

Following confused and quite frankly incompetent messaging from the Trudeau government, it is being reported that the government will quarantine Canadians brought back from Wuhan, China – the epicenter of the growing Coronavirus outbreak.

According to the report, “The federal government says Canadian evacuees from Wuhan will be quarantined for two weeks upon their arrival at Canadian Forces Base Trenton.

But Ottawa did not provide a timeline for when they’ll arrive, saying it’s still awaiting final approval from Chinese authorities to land in the locked-down city.

The number of Canadians who want to flee the Chinese province afflicted with the novel coronavirus has climbed to 325.”

Despite this move, Canada’s coronavirus defence efforts are lagging far behind other countries, including countries like the United States, where a ban on foreign nationals who have been in China in the last 14 days has been imposed.

Additionally, the US has been directing flights from China to 7 specific airports, to ensure strong screening.

Meanwhile, Canada is still operating on the honour system, with little medical screening, simply asking people if they have symptoms or have been to certain regions in China.

As a result, thousands of people have entered Canada off flights from China, without being screened for the Coronavirus.
