Secret Service Escorts Trump From Briefing After Shooting Outside White House

Trump soon returned to continue the briefing.

There was a concerning moment during the White House press briefing, when the Secret Service escorted US President Donald Trump from a news briefing after a shooting took place outside the White House.

The Secret Service confirmed that a shooting took place:

“The Secret Service can confirm there has been an officer involved shooting at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Ave. Law enforcement officials are on the scene. More information to follow.”

Reports indicate the suspect was shot, and no officers were injured. The suspect has been taken to the hospital.

Video of Trump being evacuated from the briefing can be viewed below:

Trump addressed the shooting when he returned:

“TRUMP: “There was a shooting outside of the White House and it seems to be very well under control. I would like to thank the Secret Service for doing their always quick & very effective work.”

Thankfully, the US President and all individuals in the White House are safe.

I liked his answer when a reporter asked him when he returned, “Are you not rattled?”

He replied, “I’m not sure. Do I look rattled?” That was a priceless come back.

The President does have a superb Secret Service detail, and, in these times of insurrection by domestic terrorist groups in the USA, I do believe they are earning every penny of their salary.
