Another move that punishes law-abiding Canadians while doing nothing to stop gun crime.
In a highly anti-democratic move, the Liberals are banning handgun sales by decree.
Completely bypassing Parliament, the Liberals are imposing a ‘regulation’ that will ban all sales of legal handguns staring August 19th, 2022.
Here’s part of what the government said in a press release:
“The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Honourable Marco Mendicino, Minister of Public Safety, today announced a temporary import ban on the importation of restricted handguns. This will help bring the ultimate impact of the national handgun freeze into force sooner. This temporary ban means that individuals and businesses will no longer be able to import handguns into Canada, subject to narrow exceptions that mirror those in Bill C-21. These restrictions will take effect on August 19th, 2022, and will last until the national freeze comes into force.”
To start with, it’s interesting that the Liberals trotted out two of their most incompetent ministers – Mendicino and Joly – for the announcement.
The real issue is that this anti-democratic move will do nothing to stop gun crime.
Instead, the Liberals are putting more restrictions on law-abiding Canadians, while illegal guns will continue to be smuggled over the border and used by gangs.
For reasons of political correctness, the Liberals are loathe to really discuss the issue of gang crime, and prefer to instead target law-abiding people to score political points.
Meanwhile, crime in this country continues to rise.

Unsurprisingly, law-abiding Canadians will stock up on handguns while they have the opportunity:

Anti-democratic Liberals
Governing by decree and bypassing Parliament is no surprise from the Liberals, given their shift away from centrism towards radical far-left authoritarianism.
Neo-communists love to try and disarm law-abiding people, while ignoring actual sources of crime. The goal is to have a populace that is submissive and dependent on the government for everything.
Canadians need to wake up and realize this, and avoid falling for Liberal propaganda efforts.
Law-abiding Canadian gun owners are not the source of gun crime in this country, no matter how much the Liberals try to convince people otherwise.
