“It’s absolutely sick even to entertain the idea of comparing a hunter to a deranged killer,” said CPC MP Blaine Calkins in response to Liberal MP Pam Damoff’s comments.
With the Liberals trailing badly in the polls, Trudeau’s popularity dropping to new lows, and the China interference scandal refusing to go away, the Liberals are using their usual desperation tactics: Demonizing law-abiding gun owners and talking about abortion.
And in a sign of how truly desperate the Liberals are right now, their rhetoric regarding law-abiding gun owners is becoming more and more unhinged.
At a recent House of Commons Committee meeting, Conservative MP Blaine Calkins was speaking about how many hunters have to wait a tremendous amount of time for the “privilege” of being able to hunt, and how new Liberal gun legislation could add further delays to that process.
Calkins was expressing the concerns of many Canadians – particularly in rural areas – who see the Liberal government adding more and more restrictions on them, in what clearly seems to be a politically-motivated attack by the Liberals on people who live in areas of the country that don’t vote Liberal on election day.
In response to Calkin’s question, Liberal MP Pam Damoff disgracefully compared Canadian hunters to the Danforth shooter (skip to 5:15 in the video below to see Damoff’s comments):
Pam Damoff just compared every #hunter in Canada to the Danforth shooter (unlicensed criminal with an illegal handgun). Every single hunter and rural Canadian out there, take note of exactly what she really thinks about you. pic.twitter.com/gcvajT3Ha7

Calkin’s blasted Damoff on Twitter:
“It’s absolutely sick even to entertain the idea of comparing a hunter to a deranged killer. For those hunters that thought that Liberals, NDP, and the Bloc were on your side, think again! They don’t care about you! #cdnpoli”

Politicization of the law
Canada is increasingly becoming a soft-on-crime nation. Criminals with long records of arrests and convictions for violent acts get let out with just a slap on the wrist. The collectivist, victim-based mindset of the Liberals means they go easy on criminals who are part of supposedly ‘oppressed’ groups.
Meanwhile, since the Liberals view rural Canadians and Conservative Canadians as part of an ‘oppressor’ group, they seek to criminalize those law-abiding citizens. Things are now totally backwards: Law-abiding citizens are treated like criminals, while criminals are treated like upstanding members of society.
Damoff’s disgusting comparison is an extension of that kind of screwed-up Liberal thinking. Even though there is no connection between law-abiding hunters and a criminal who used an illegal handgun, Damoff knows the comparison could win her some votes in Liberal areas and thus has no problem demonizing vast swathes of Canadians in non-Liberal areas.
This kind of politicization of the law is deeply destructive to the unity of a country, and is a key reason why this nation is more divided than ever.
