Survey: Poilievre Leads Trudeau By 14 Points On Best Choice For Prime Minister

The Conservative Leader has hit a new high on that question.

A political party can survive being unpopular.

It can even survive its leader being unpopular.

But it can only do so if it can convince voters that every possible alternative is even worse.

If an unpopular party with an unpopular leader goes up against a popular alternative, then electoral disaster can ensue.

And that’s what the Liberals are now facing down.

According to a new Nanos survey, 35% of Canadians see Pierre Poilievre as their preferred choice for Prime Minister.

Just 21% say the same about Trudeau.

19% say they are unsure, more than the 14% who pick Jagmeet Singh.

Poilievre’s number on that question has hit a new high.

These are nightmarish numbers for the Liberals, because they indicate Canadians are just about at the point where Pierre Poilievre becoming Prime Minister is baked in to future expectations.

Fearmongering doesn’t work if a critical mass of the public has already decided they are alright making a change in government.

The increased desperation shown in Liberal rhetoric as of late indicates they are seeing these numbers reflected internally, and are still unable to find anyway to change public perceptions.
