In Strong Statement, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe Backs PM Carney’s Rejection of Unfair U.S. Deal

“Decisions about who Canada trades with must be made by Canada.”

In a statement, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe has given his backing to Canada’s withdrawal from Canada-U.S. trade negotiations. In the statement, Moe noted that “the 50% US tariffs on some Canadian goods are a clear violation of CUSMA and a clear indication that the current US can not be trusted to live up to its own trade deals.”

Moe’s remarks are quite strong, and his backing for the Federal Government’s decision to reject an unfair deal helps to strengthen Canadian national unity and cohesion. Across the nation and across the political spectrum, Canadians are standing together against Trump’s coercion and threats.
