Poilievre denounces U.S. threats towards Greenland & allies, reiterates Conservative support for NATO

“Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark and we support its territorial integrity,” said Poilievre.

In an online statement, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has denounced the U.S. push to seize Greenland and has reiterated Conservative support for NATO:

“It is unacceptable for the U.S. to seize the territory of a sovereign country, including by threatening tariffs on other NATO countries.

Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark and we support its territorial integrity.

Conservatives support NATO and Canada’s obligations as a NATO member.

Canada should strengthen the NATO alliance and rebuild our own forces in the Arctic to combat threats also coming from China and Russia and to protect our seas, skies and soil.”

This is a good statement from Poilievre. Some things are beyond partisan politics. Standing up for the territorial integrity of our allies, standing up for NATO, and standing against U.S. bullying are issues on which Canadians across the political spectrum can agree. And with some in the U.S. continuing to push for the annexation of Canada, standing up for Greenland and Denmark now is essential to protecting our sovereignty.

As Canadians, we need to set aside our differences as much as possible and stand together to ensure the survival of Canada and the security of our allies.
