Liberal Government Caught Lying About Han Dong Story

The Trudeau government said they only found out about the Han Dong story when the media asked them about it. Turns out, that was a lie.

The stunning pace of Liberal lies continues.

When the Han Dong story first broke, the Liberal government claimed they only heard about the allegations (allegations Dong denies), when asked by the media in response to the story:

“In an emailed statement, The Prime Minister’s Office said it “only became aware that a conversation took place after Mr. Dong told us, following recent media questions.”

In addition, PMO spokeswoman Alison Murphy suggested that the MP was not acting at the behest of his government. “At no time was Mr. Dong ever used as a ‘back channel,” she wrote in the statement.”

Here’s the thing, it turns out the Liberal government actually already had – and thus still has – a transcript of the call, as reported by the Globe & Mail:

“The Trudeau government determined that there was no “actionable evidence” after it received a CSIS transcript of an early 2021 conversation between Liberal MP Han Dong and China’s top diplomat in Toronto, according to a senior government source – saying conclusions could not be drawn that Mr. Dong asked Beijing to keep two Canadians in prison for political reasons.”

Take a moment to think about what this means. Justin Trudeau surely knew about this transcript when he repeatedly defended Han Dong, and when he insinuated that racism was behind concerns about China’s foreign interference.

This also means the Liberals knew they were lying when they claimed they only heard about the allegations against Dong from the media.

This also means that Justin Trudeau knew Dong had spoke to a Chinese diplomat about the Two Michaels – something the government says was not directed from the top – yet had no issue with it since they didn’t remove him from Caucus until media reports.

Further, this means Dong was only removed from Caucus (it’s said that he chose to leave but that’s often a diplomatic way to say someone was pushed), for political purposes, rather than any actual concern on the part of the Liberals for Dong’s alleged actions.

Every day brings a new lie

It is now confirmed that the Trudeau government lied about what they knew about the allegations against Han Dong and when they knew it.

This is just the latest of many lies, with the Liberal narrative crumbling further and further each day.

Yesterday, a majority of MPs in the House of Commons voted for a public inquiry into China’s election interference. If the Liberals continue to refuse an inquiry, and continue to lie, more and more Canadians will see that a dangerous and desperate cover-up is under way.
