Greenlanders continue to make it clear they do not want to be American.
Speaking at a press conference alongside Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in Copenhagen, Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen made it abundantly clear that Greenlanders choose Denmark over the United States:
“If we have to choose between the USA and Denmark here and now, we choose Denmark. We choose NATO. We choose the Kingdom of Denmark. We choose the EU,” said Nielsen.
There is no ambiguity here. Greenlanders do not want to be part of the United States. The U.S. should respect that, and instead of threatening its allies, work with its allies to strengthen security in the Arctic.
