If a foreign agent was deliberately weakening our economy and pitting regions against each other, most Canadians wouldn’t stand for it. So why should Guilbeault get away with it?
The world is an increasingly dangerous place.
Barbaric anti-Semites are marching and chanting with impunity on our streets.
Hostile foreign states like China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea continue to build up their arsenals.
The world is returning to the law of the jungle.
In such a world, countries require national unity, economic strength, and military power in order to survive and thrive.
Thus, anything that undermines national unity, undermines our economy, and undermines our military power is a threat to us.
And that brings us to Steven Guilbeault.
There’s a lot of talk about the way in which Guilbeault’s eco-extremist policies hurt the pocketbooks of Canadians.
Yet, the damage goes even deeper.
Steven Guilbeault’s entire worldview is incompatible with Canada’s success as a nation state.
In fact, Guilbeault’s agenda may as well have been written by our enemies.
What would Russia, China, and Iran want more than to see countries like Canada – with massive natural resources and economic potential – deliberately weaken our own energy sector and suppress economic activity?
Remember, Russia and Iran get richer when Canada sells less oil & gas.
China becomes more powerful when the West deindustrializes.
Guilbeault’s whole ideological vision is about being hell-bent on deindustrializing Canada and destroying our oil & gas sector. This makes Canadians poorer, divides our nation internally meaning we spend time fighting amongst ourselves rather than confronting foreign threats, and it makes it nearly impossible for us to build up our military.
Military strength flows from economic strength. Economic strength requires abundant affordable energy and real industrial power. None of that is possible if our country remains beholden to Guilbeault’s extremist agenda.
And so, it’s time Canadians started to realize that not only are Steven Guilbeault and his fellow eco-extremists a threat to Canada’s economy, they are a threat to Canada’s national security and even the long-term survival of our nation itself.
