Food Bank Use Hits Record High In Canada

2 million Canadians now use food banks every month.

Canadians are “buckling under the strain” of high food prices.

That’s the conclusion of a new report by Food Banks Canada, which found that 2 million Canadians are using food banks every month.

The increase in food bank usage has been rapid.

As noted by FBC, it took 25 years for Canada to hit 1 million food bank visits per month, but just five more years for that number to double.

While some of the increased food bank usage can be traced to Canada’s rapidly rising population, that doesn’t account for a doubling of food bank use in such a short period.
